Overview
Emergency First Aid at Work is a one-day course aligned to the Qualsafe Awards Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF). It is designed for people who may need to provide first aid in a range of workplace emergency situations and gives learners the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond safely, promptly, and effectively.
Audience
This course is suitable for people who may be required to provide emergency first aid in the workplace, particularly in low-risk environments or where a needs assessment identifies Emergency First Aid at Work as appropriate.
Learning objectives
- Understand the role and responsibilities of an emergency first aider.
- Assess an incident safely and manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.
- Recognise cardiac arrest, deliver CPR, and use an AED safely.
- Recognise and manage choking, seizures, shock, external bleeding, and minor injuries.
Assessment
- Practical assessment of first aid skills.
- Completion requirements
Learners are assessed through practical demonstration and oral questioning across the required first aid skills during the course.
Successful learners meet the required practical assessment criteria and receive a qualification certificate, which is typically valid for 3 years.
